Hello lovelies. Have you ever planned or ended up on an extremely long trip, with a limited budget, a pet, or other complicating factor, and been simply desperate for a place to sleep in your car and not get hassled? Then you should know about at California's Rest Areas and Vista Points. Rest Areas, which all have bathrooms, have an eight hour time limit on parking.Vista Points also allow overnight parking. This is unless a Rest Area is not in operation, and of course if there are no signs prohibiting overnights like the stop just outside the town of Mendocino. I made a map of these two types of sleepy pit stops. This is all of the stops in CA! Now you can plan a really long trip and know what your free options are that don't involve being stealthy or going into the wilderness.
